Penzi Pet Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome!

Welcome to the new blog site for Penzi Pet Photography by Kelly Allen.  I am a Boston based camera wielding dogaholic and love what I do!  As a photographer, I strive to create beautiful, organic, artistic images and as an animal lover, I work to create a fun uplifting experience for all the furry friends I meet.  I provide pet photography services throughout Boston and eastern Massachusetts photographing pets and their personalities in their homes and favorite spots.  When I'm not photographing dogs, I'm taking them to to the woods to play as part of my dog walking service A Dog's Life Boston.

I created this blog to function as a journal of my dog-related experiences, observations and insights; photo shoots; and adventures with Penzi and my pack on our daily trips.  So look around, enjoy, and appreciate all the fantastic ways our pets touch our lives.

Cindy’s City Hall Wedding

Cindy and I met when we were randomly assigned as roommates for our freshman year at Syracuse University.  It was a great match and we have been friends ever since.  So I was both excited and honored when Cindy asked me to shoot her wedding and then instantly nervous.  I shoot pets, what do I know about weddings?!  But after brushing up on some tips from my photo books I was feeling better and once I started shooting it came naturally.  Cindy and her husband Kamran got married at Boston City Hall then we headed to the North End for dinner and some celebrating!  It was a fabulous day so thank you Cindy & Kam for letting me be a part of it.

Duke, Tank & Zoe

I met this trio on an early November morning.  It was chilly, the sun was barely up, and the grass was coated with frost but the dogs were eager to play.  The shoot was a Christmas gift for their mom and was a treat to do.  Working with all three was certainly a challenge but their varying breeds and personalities made it an unforgettable experience.

Here’s Zoe, the big sister.  She’s a 7 year old Ridgeback and a very sweet girl, happy to pose for her pictures!  She was quite patient with her rambunctious little brothers.

Duke is the middle child, a very playful 3 year old Great Dane who lived up to his regal name when he actually took a minute to sit still!

And the baby of the group is Tank, a 1-1/2 year old Bulldog with loads of character.  His big personality and fun loving character make him easy to love!

Dog Days of Summer

Hello there!  No I have not dropped off the earth, I’ve just been incredibly horrible at updating new blog posts…  This would be the prime example seeing as how this event was over the summer and we now have feet of snow and ice outside!!!  It was a fun day though so I wanted to be sure it got it’s post.  The Roslindale farmer’s market is fabulous as they have not only a great selection of local farms, bakeries and food vendors; they also have a selection of local artists/crafters and it’s 1/4 mile from my house so really just a fabulous way to spend a Saturday morning from June-October.  To learn more about the farmer’s market and other happenings in my neighborhood check out Roslindale.net.  This year the farmer’s market people wanted to have a day to celebrate all the dogs that visit the market on a regular basis and to feature local doggy businesses of all varieties.  They even had a dog parade and ended the festivities with a dog blessing!  You can see all the photos from this event at: http://www.penziproofs.com/Events
